Internship at a city centre hotel in beautiful Granada, Spain


SPAIN / Abadia Hotel, Granada

The position available here at Hotel Abadia is as a receptionist. This involves a number of duties including handling check-ins and check-outs. We have customers of all nationalities at Abadia and we are busy all year round. When receiving both guests and phone calls you will be expected to offer support, advice and information to aid the customers.

Similarly, the management of incoming reservations and other calendar dates (via email or fax) is very important and is another duty of the receptionist.

As well as standard reception work you will also be responsible for the laundry; this entails washing, drying and ironing all the linen and towels, then organising them for the cleaning staff ready for the following day.

Furthermore, you will also need to assist management and other members of staff with jobs such as cleaning rooms or general maintenance of the hotel.

The working hours will be one of two six hour shifts. Either-

08.30 to 14.30
or
14.30 to 20.30

One shift per day, five or 6 shifts per week.

At the very least a basic level of Spanish language skills are required.

There is no pay, however you will receive free accommodation in an apartment with your own room, television and a shared bathroom with your cost of living (gas, water, electricity) covered. Also, after three months you may receive a single gratification payment, depending on your performance in the hotel.
