One week International Seminar on Climate Change in Berlin, Germany

About the Seminar: Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time; it has a huge impact on our environment, culture, economy and society as a whole, with potential scenarios including wars for resources such as water, oil and mineral resources, inequality and intergenerational conflicts and more devastating effects.

Activities: The seminar will raise awareness on issues concerning climate change as well as provide with practical tools that can be used in everyday life. The participants will start working on a toolkit to take home with the intention to multiply the outcomes of the seminar in their respective communities at grassroots level. The group will consist of participants from the UK, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland, Belgium, Slovakia, Estonia and Lithuania.

Accommodation: Participants will stay in bungalows at the VJF centre. The centre is situated in a forest on the banks of the lake “Langer See“ in Berlin. It’s a quiet place, a bit far from the centre of Berlin, although there are good public transport connections.

Location: Berlin Area.

Special requirements: Participants should prepare for the project by researching what is already done in their home town, districts and countries in order to tackle climate change.

Participation fee: £180. Food and accommodation provided. Participants will receive a 70% travel reimbursement once they have completed the seminar.

Age: 18 + . Places: 20. Only 2 places available for participants from the UK.
