Green Hoofprint, nature conscious jungle horse trek company welcomes you for horse internship in the lush countryside of Costa Rica. Our home is an eco community, VerdEnergia, in a very untouristy valley about 2,5 hours from the capital San Jose.
The only thing you need is love for horses and desire to fully immerge in to our organic lifestyle. The rest myself, other tribe members, our farm and horses can teach you.
You’ll get to do all the general things that are part of a horse owner’s life like cultivating and processing home grown feed, brushing, washing, fence maintenance and mucking.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn about goats and milking, field work that includes tending to our biodiesel trees and harvesting fresh ingredients, cooking from fresh produce, chocolate, cheese and soap making and many other things part of our daily lives on VerdEnergia. If you don’t have any experience with horses or are a beginner, I’ll teach you how to handle a horse and can give you riding lessons. If you have experience, you’ll get to go on longer and more challenging rides. When we have customers, interns will help with saddling and possibly assisting on treks.
For interning we are asking $25/day, minimum 3 weeks. You will get 3 meals a day, comfy bed and you get to use our pool, yoga studio and have limited access to internet. For less than 3 weeks, $30/day. For a commitment of month or longer, price is negotiable.
Costa Rica is a nature lover’s paradise with a lot of different things to do from surfing to volcano hiking so you might want to combine the internship with some traveling. I can help you find cheap tickets.
