GHANA / Volunteer Partnerships for West Africa
VPWA along with Women’s Watch International (WWI) implement Research and Advocacy activities in relation to HIV/AIDS. All the new information collected is collated for different strategic action plans aimed at educating the local communities in an effort to reduce the spread of the disease.
Moreover, every month people living with HIV/AIDS are gathered for education, advice giving and medication sessions under the guidance of WWI.
VPWA is recruiting volunteers to contribute to the researching and collating activities as well as to the care-giving and counselling sessions.
General requirements:
• At least age 18 (no maximum age limit);
• Good knowledge of English language
• Strong commitment to values and principles of volunteerism;
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
• Ability to adjust in difficult living and working conditions;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Project fee: 400 EUR per month.
Fees include:
– Accommodation and meals.
– Airport Pick Up.
– Placement
– 24 hour support contact services
– Pre-departure Orientation.
– Mobile phone SIM card number.
– Accra City tour
– Internet access (at VPWA’s HQ).
– Certificate of Recognition and an opportunity to serve as a VPWA ambassador in your city, college or community.
