The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is a non-partisan, non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO), currently based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. CCIM’s goal is to continue the production of Voice of Democracy (VOD) radio programs that were recently produced under a separate NGO, the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR). The aim of VOD is to educate the Cambodian public through broadcast radio about issues on human rights and politics, information on which is currently very limited. CCIM is currently undertaking a new project, “Community Voices On-air: Improving Local Governance through Public Dialogue On-air”. This project seeks to improve local governance in Cambodian communes through encouraging public information and dialogue between the commune authorities and the community people, via broadcast radio. It therefore promotes a participatory approach to local governance in order to speed up community development.
We are looking for a 2-year intern to expand this current project and fulfil the role of ‘Good Governance Advisor’ starting July 1st 2011. The intern’s roles will be:
1.Training, mentoring and advising the project team in day-to-day project implementation.
2.Training and mentoring the project team in the project management, and project monitoring and evaluation.
3.Training and advising the project team in developing concepts and projects on good governance
4.Advising the project team on resource mobilization for good governance projects
The intern should offer the following:
1.Experience in or study of: Policy making/implementation; local/national good governance; and/or politics.
2.Excellent training and moderating skills
3.Ability to project manage, monitor and evaluate
4.Skills in resource mobilization
5.Must be a creative, positive team player
6.Competent user of Microsoft Office
