Grassroots Volunteering in Paraguay
The organisations listed below have either got in touch with us to add their details to this or another of our websites, or we otherwise have reason to believe they are actively looking for international volunteers and charge reasonable or no fees to join in, live and work with them:
Santa Maria Education Fund
www.santamariadefe.org
This UK registered charity needs the help of volunteers each year and warmly invites applications from people who are interested in becoming volunteer English teachers. Volunteers need to be independent users of Spanish, and native or near native speakers of English. There is no upper age limit and they have had great success with older volunteers But most of their volunteers have been university students of Spanish in their year abroad. Teachers teach four to five hours a day to both adults and children.
Where: Santa Maria de Fe.
Accommodation & Costs: Volunteers aren’t charged a thing but they must cover all their costs, including room and board. To begin with they will find you a family to stay with. The current monthly rate for room and board locally is around £100.
