SOUTH SUDAN / Volunteer Missionary Movement
About the Post:
This is a 2 year post in Wau, South Sudan. The post holder will work in the Diocese of Wau with the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Africa, supported by VMM. Although the post is voluntary a generous allowance is paid. Airfares, insurance, visa and accommodation expenses are also covered.
Background of VMM:
VMM is a lay Christian non-government organisation founded in 1969, whose members share their lives, faith, resources and skills to promote equality, respect and dignity for all. VMM has supported over 2,300 volunteers overseas. VMM is committed to building the capacity of our Partner Organisations through our Overseas Programmes. Our work includes recruiting, orientating and supporting skilled personnel to build the capacity of our Partners.
Background of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa:
The Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa are a Partner of VMM working within the Diocese of Wau, South Sudan in St Daniel Comboni Hospital.
Job Description:
The administrator will be responsible for supervising the financial activities of the hospital, for overseeing each department and coordinating activities of the hospital support staff to achieve effective service delivery.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Previous experience in financial management
• Experience of implementing financial business procedures
• Ability to adapt to the local environment and culture
• Ability to work within a team and under pressure
• Ability to understand how to work with a post conflict (post war) community
• Ability and willingness to pass on his/her skills to the locals for the sustainability of the hospital
Qualifications:
Recognised finance qualifications required; Degree desirable.
