The Hermann-Lietz-Schule, Haubinda, is looking for native English speakers to work for an academic year as English Language Assistants, from 11 August 2016 to July 2017.
Haubinda is a small, rural boarding and day school for pupils aged from 7 to 20. More information can be found at haubinda.de or haubinda.net
We are looking to appoint people who aren’t afraid of hard work and who enjoy working with young people. This post would be suitable for someone looking to take a year out or a recent graduate looking to broaden their experience.
Responsibilities of the job include helping out in class and giving one-on-one lessons to weaker pupils.
Assistants play a large role in the life of the school and are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities, ranging from sport to baking to choir. You are encouraged to take part in field trips as a supervisor, too.
You will be paid the German minimum wage, which amounts to €900 a month. This translates to a net income of €450 after room, board, health insurance and taxes have been deducted.
Accommodation is provided in a single room in a flat shared with other junior staff members. All meals are provided on site during term-time. Onsite internet access is also available.
Applications should be sent by email to Kirsten Ehinger: k.ehinger[at]hl-haubinda.de (subject: application for assistantship)
