The Universidad del Papaloapan (UNPA) is looking for two English teachers to start in August.
Teachers must be native speakers with a B.A. + CELTA/TEFL Certification or a M.A. in a relevant field. Spanish ability is a plus.
Salary is approximately 12,000 pesos after taxes. The university offers IMSS health coverage, AFORE, a fund-matching savings plan, and a Christmas bonus. There are five weeks paid vacation a year, along with various national holidays.
This is a full-time position and teaching load is 20 classroom hours a week. English is a required subject for our students who are studying nursing, chemistry, biotechnology, and food science. The majority of our students come in with no English ability so the bulk of our teaching is at the Elementary and Pre-Intermediate levels.
UNPA is located in the city of Tuxtepec, Oaxaca, on the gulf coast plain at the foot of the mountains. The weather is hot and humid most of the year and there are many very beautiful natural attractions to visit on the weekends. It is a city of around 100,000 and is an important industrial and commercial hub for the Cuenca de Papaloapan region. It is about three hours to the Port of Veracruz, six hours to Oaxaca City, and about seven to Mexico City.
