A unique opportunity has arisen for an Early Years qualified teacher to be part of a brand new school situated in a luxury five star resort (http://www.atmosphereresorts.com/) on a tropical island in the Philippines. The resort is located within an old five acre coconut plantation, and enjoys the spectacular beach front location of the estate alongside the warm coastal waters of the Philippine Sea.
The plans for the school are to start with one class in January 2011 and grow gradually starting with the Early Years Foundation Stage. A working knowledge of the International Primary Curriculum would be beneficial. Cultural diversity is seen as a major strength and this would be integrated into lessons. There is also a great deal of importance placed on environmental issues and embracing and utilising the natural world.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a passion for excellence, and have the creativity and drive to work cooperatively and imaginatively using the EYFS as a framework. Classroom practice needs to be exemplary with considerable experience of observations and appropriate formative assessment tools.
The successful candidate will be assisting in setting up the school so past experience of being involved in a project like this would be a benefit
