Job Description: Actuality Media conducts service learning documentary programs connecting emerging filmmakers and changemakers in order to tell stories that matter. A new program will be launched this Fall titled Media Impact Internship where enrolled students will travel to Nicaragua for 10 weeks to create a media campaign about a local changemaker, centered around a short documentary film. Actuality Media is hiring on a contract basis a Documentary Instructor to run the program in Granada, Nicaragua.

Primary Duties: Supervise 6-8 University students in Granada, Nicaragua in producing short documentaries and media campaigns about 2 local changemakers; Teach Actuality Media curriculum modules in visual storytelling, documentary production, media impact strategy, website design and media distribution; Further develop the existing curriculum as needed to fit new program.
Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree with a focus in Documentary or equivalent experience; experience teaching with demonstrable effectiveness in the form of reviews or recommendations; experience traveling and/or working in developing countries.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in creating and implementing a documentary impact strategies; Experience or willingness to learn WordPress website developing; Spanish language ability.
Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with Nicaraguan salary expectations, instructor will be paid a flat fee of $3600 for the duration of the contract. All travel expenses to, from and within Nicaragua will be covered as well as housing for the duration of the contract.
