A fantastic, international job opportunity has just become available for a responsible, dependable and honest and tutor/nanny with a high level of experience in child care. The successful candidate will be tutoring and caring within a professional family in Abuja, Nigeria.
The family live and work in Abuja and are warm and loving. They tend to travel several times a year to different countries around the world. They are keen on hiring a tutor/nanny who will become part of the family. They would like the person to instil good manners, etiquette and routine in the children as well as arranging meaningful activities and helping with school work.
Other duties would include:
• Supervising baths, dressing and planning meals
• Scheduling and co-ordinating children’s activities
• Travelling with children to and from school
• Undertaking appropriate creative, educational and outdoor activities
• Supervising rest and bed times
• Reading to and with the children
• Ensuring the children’s bedrooms and play areas are tidy
• Reinforcing appropriate discipline
• Travelling with family as required
The right candidate would be expected to be tidy, calm (yet firm and fair), level headed, outgoing and with a good attitude and knowledge of children and their development.
The candidate must:
• Have the passion to help others to understand and learn a wide range of academic subjects.
• Be patient and understanding of the children and able to assist, evaluate, motivate, develop and integrate their learning.
• Be a motivational figure in the children’s lives and provide them with confidence, in academia and within themselves.
• Be able to implement exercises and activities to facilitate children’s academic improvement.
• Aid the children in assimilating and bonding with other families/children to help the vital social skills that will help their development.
