We are seeking ambitious and goal-oriented volunteers to join the programme for 6 months. This is an ideal programme for recent University/college graduates to gain field experience in conservation and river protection.

Cape Fear River Watch
Cape Fear River Watch is a non profit organisation working towards protecting and improving the water quality of the Lower Cape Fear River Basin in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA, through environmental education, advocacy and action.

Volunteer Opportunities:
We have places for 3 volunteers to join for 6 month periods in 2011 and 2012 to take part in the following projects:
• Greenfield Lake Eco-Tours
• Enviroscape Programme
• Paddle Series
• Water Quality Monitoring
• Rain Garden Education and Maintenance
• River Semester
• Eagles Island
• Camp site maintenance
• Office renovation and assistance
• River Cleanups

Wednesdays on the Water
In an effort to introduce members of the region to the Cape Fear River, CFRW offers ‘Wednesdays on the Water.” We can take up to 7 guests in the RIVERKEEPER patrol boat for a 50 mile tour of the water shed. We cover 5 rivers on the 5-6 hour trip and invariably see numerous examples of wildlife species that call the Caper Fear home.

Cost
The 6-month programme fee is £2180.
