Who We Are:

Forever Angels is a Baby Home for 50 orphaned, abandoned and HIV positive babies in Mwanza, on the shores on Lake Victoria in Tanzania, Africa.

Who We Are Looking For:

We usually have about 8 volunteers at any time from all over the world, working at the Baby Home. Volunteers come with a variety of skills and backgrounds – from Nurses to Play Therapists to Dentists to Occupational Therapists to Teachers, to people who simply adore babies and children and who have a lot of love to give.

We are currently looking for a Volunteer who is confident in BSL who would like to support a 4 year old profoundly deaf girl named Leila in a Tanzanian International School.

We are looking for a volunteer to come as soon as possible with three main purposes:

1) To Volunteer at Forever Angels Baby Home and help with all of our babies and infants in the afternoons.
2) To go to the International School each morning with Leila – to sign with her and her teachers every day so that she can begin to access a full learning environment.
3) To work with Leila’s (British) family every week, helping them to become more fluent in BSL and encouraging their other children to sign.

What You Will Receive:

The Volunteer will have to pay for their own flights out to Tanzania
– but will be provided with free accommodation in the Volunteer House for one year (longer if mutually agreed) and pocket money to cover basic living costs.
