SRI LANKA & UK / SL Volunteers
All living expenses covered whilst in Sri Lanka covered. Must be able to commit to volunteering with the team for a minimum of 8 weeks.
1st 4 weeks: Assistant Coordinators are not required to take on any additional responsibility, to that of a standard volunteer.
Assistant Coordinators undergo the same training: Basic TEFL, Working with Children and people with special needs.
Assistant Coordinator will be given the standard volunteer schedule:
Morning: Youth Teaching or Special Needs Centre (alternate days)
Afternoon: Running Activities at Children’s Homes.
2nd 4+ weeks: Extra Responsibilities
Assistant Coordinators will be required to assist the new volunteer arrivals.
Help run the orientation week.
New volunteers will shadow Assistant Coordinators at Projects.
Support volunteers and help them adjust to Sri Lanka.
Assistant Coordinators will be expected to volunteer at the newer and less established projects
Take records of how the projects are progressing.
Ensure that volunteers are abiding by the Volunteer guidelines.
Assistant Coordinators with more specialist experience will placed on the newer and more challenging projects.
Assistant Coordinators that fulfil either of the 2 roles below will have their volunteers expenses covered. Volunteer expenses include: Training, Food & Accommodation and in-country travel.

Advertising, PR and Marketing.
General Administration.
Role 2: Recruiting Volunteers
It is still possible to be an assistant coordinator even if you are unable to commit to the above roles.
