Amazon Basin Research and Conservation Project, Peru

PERU / WorkingAbroad Projects

Volunteers are needed to assist in an ongoing project in the Amazon basin at Tambopata, South East Peru. You will participate in research aimed at understanding the effects of human activities on wildlife, which is given to decision makers and will have a positive impact on the amazon ecosystem in the area.

Research can be focused on one of four taxonomic groups (though more than one is possible); Mammals, Birds, Herpetofauna and Insects, and activities will vary depending on the groups chosen. However, each volunteer will learn about all of the taxonomic areas that the project researches so as to benefit from a broad spectrum of rainforest knowledge.
