SOUTH SUDAN / Volunteer Missionary Movement
About the Role:
This is a 2 year role based in South Sudan run by Solidarity with South Sudan, supported by VMM. Although the post is voluntary a generous allowance is paid. Airfairs, insurance, visa and accommodation expenses are also covered.
Background of VMM:
VMM is a lay Christian non-government organisation founded in 1969, whose members share their lives, faith, resources and skills to promote equality, respect and dignity for all. VMM has supported over 2,300 volunteers overseas. VMM is committed to building the capacity of our Partner Organisations through our Overseas Programmes. Our work includes recruiting, orientating and supporting skilled personnel to build the capacity of our Partners.
Background of our Partner Organisation
Solidarity with South Sudan (SSS) is a Partner of VMM. SSS is an inter-congregational initiative in partnership with the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC) with 4 main projects: teacher training; training of Staff Registered Nurses; an inter-diocesan pastoral programme and a community farming project.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience in the field of agri-business
Experience in managing projects
Experience and/ or knowledge of development issues
