Job Purpose:
Enhances presentations by providing photographs; cataloguing photographs; maintaining photograph library database.
Duties:
* Supports presentations by planning photographic sequences.
* Selects and assembles equipment by reviewing subject material; anticipating conditions; applying knowledge of function and limitations of various types of camera, lenses, films, and accessories.
* Plans composition by viewing subject; determining camera position and angle to produce desired effect.
* Arranges subject material by posing subject or manoeuvring into position to take candid photos.
* Creates light level by using light meter; creating artificial lighting with flash units; arranging lights and lighting equipment.
* Accommodates lighting, depth of field, subject motion, and film speed by adjusting lens aperture and shutter speed.
* Adjusts focus by determining subject-to-lens distance.
* Calculates exposure time, exposure interval, filter effect, and colour temperature by using tables, standard formulas, and mechanical or electronic measuring instruments.
* Compensates for distorted perspective and parallax by making adjustments to camera, lens, or equipment.
* Exposes film by positioning camera and tripping shutter.
* Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.
* Maintains photograph library by filing photographs; maintaining database.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations.
* Enhances photography department and organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
