Work as an Environmental Educator for the Great Basin Naturalists Environmental Science Camp at Galena Creek Recreation Area, Nevada, USA. Ideal for students of Environmental science/Ecology or related fields. This position is comprised of nine weeks of theme-based activities that capitalise on the unique natural setting of Galena Creek Park and the Mount Rose region.
Themes include natural and cultural history topics that allow children to experience the outdoors through hands-on games, hikes, guided activities, field trips, guest presenters, and simple exploration and play. All curricula are designed with a combination of outdoor education, adventure programmes and conservation education. Educators will implement curriculum to help campers to discover local animals, plants, birds, fish, rocks, and cultural history through hands-on games, hikes, guided activities, and more. This Position includes one week of training followed by nine weeks of camp, including four weeks of overnight camping in bunk beds in a lodge.

Applicants should be Aged 18+, speak English with good communication skills, and should have some outdoor school experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are desirable.
There is a programme cost of £370 to pay to take part in the whole programme – which covers all food and lodging, transportation once you arrive in Reno, all equipment usage, training, orientation and back up. Interns also receive a $105 per week stipend during their stay. £95 ($US150) of your fee will also be refunded to you at the end of the programme if all equipment is in order.
