Biolea olive estate in western Crete, specialized in the production of artisan stone milled, cold pressed organic olive oil, is seeking interns for the harvest period 2012 (approx. end Oct to Jan).
Candidates should be energetic, motivated, innovative, passionate people who believe
in the value of artisan products, and thrive on performing diverse outdoor farm activities. The work is physically demanding and will involve working in the olive groves for long hours. Attitude is everything, common sense is appreciated, as is personal motivation. We are looking for positive, can-do applicants who are open to learning new skills. The position requires physical stamina and experience in agricultural work. Interns will be expected to work long hours outside, lift heavy objects and use hand tools regularly.
This internship requires:
Agriculture-related experience
Physical stamina
Aptitude for working with machinery/tools
Ability to multi-task
Fluency in English
All interns will be considered on a trial basis for the first two weeks of their stay for both parties to decide whether it is a good fit.
REMUNERATION:
This is an internship position for which we will be providing room and board only.
Accommodations are in a village house with individual bedrooms, full size kitchen with stove and refrigerator, Wi-Fi connection, washer. You are expected to keep your living areas clean and tidy.
