New Futures Organisation is a small Western-run NGO which operates an orphanage, training centre, and a network of free rural schools in the Takeo region of Cambodia, approximately 90 minutes south of Phnom Penh. We are looking for an intern to spend between six months and a year living in Takeo, supporting the running of the organisation and helping promote the NGO to potential volunteers, donors and supporters.
The successful applicant will be a fluent English speaker with a genuine interest in development issues.
Duties will vary, but might include admin tasks, supporting and being a point of contact for volunteers, maintaining and updating NFO’s social media and website presence; researching and pursuing fundraising and sponsorship opportunities; and helping with the implementation of our various projects around Takeo. In addition, there will of course be plenty of opportunities to spend time with our young people and to teach at the orphanage and in the rural schools.
The position is voluntary and unpaid; however your accommodation and food will be provided. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone considering a career in the nonprofit/NGO sector.
