Shenzhen, China…

Shenzhen China is the one of the 4 top tier cities in China, and has the highest per capital GDP in the country. Adjacent to Hong Kong, is one of China’s major logistic, financial and manufacturing centres. Built from a small fishing village 20 years ago, it is the perfect embodiment of China’s breath-taking development in the past 2 decades. As the manufacturing base for multi-national companies, it is home of a large community of westerners and considered a modern metropolis with a Chinese flavour. It is very close to the malls, five-star hotels, such as Shangri-La and Sheraton, restaurants, shops, cafes and cinemas. You will find Irish pubs, Italian restaurants stand side by side with Sichuan, Hunan restaurants. In your spare time, you can learn Mandarin from our highly qualified Mandarin Chinese teacher, visit the many parks, beaches, museums, resorts in the city, or go shopping in Hong Kong. As the southern gateway into China, Shenzhen is very close to other South-East Asian countries. Our teachers enjoy travelling to Vietnam, Cambodia and other Chinese cities (Tibet and Guilin are the two most visited destinations by our teachers.)

This placement is ideal for keen travellers or those who relish new experiences. Flights and train tickets are exceptionally cheap in China and so you might like to take advantage of your spare time to explore such a remarkable and culturally rich country. You will get the best of both worlds, experiencing everyday life in China and thus become familiar with the finer points of its culture, benefitting from inside advice (better than any guidebook!) from the China-born company director, whilst also having the opportunity to quench your wanderlust by travelling independently.
