Class Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for a Maths Teacher for a school in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The position is to start in January 2012.
The school was established in 1999 and delivers the national standards and the philosophy of Kazakh education programme and the International Baccalaureate (IB). The school take children from 3 -18 years. The school is a purpose built school located in an ecologically clean area of the city. Classrooms are equipped with modern teaching and learning tools. The school facilities include modern science and computer laboratories with access to the Internet. Specialised facilities include areas designated for art, music, drama and dance. The school has a greenhouse for the curriculum to focus on ecology and conservation of resources. Two libraries with adequate research stations are provided, along with computers. The school also has a swimming pool, an astro turf football pitch, two gymnasiums, a fitness room containing state of the art fitness equipment and a climbing wall.
The successful applicant must have a minimum 4 years post qualifying experience and ideally hold a PGCE or Bed. The candidate will preferably be able to teach up to IBDP higher but in the meantime the school will consider a candidate who can teach Grade 6 to Grade 11 IB Maths Studies. IB Diploma Programme and MYP experience is an advantage but not essential as there is a very strong professional development programme within the school. The successful candidate must have experience in child centred, inquiry teaching and learning.
