Volunteers are needed to take part in the Tsau! Global White Lion Protection Trust, a South African based non-profit organisation. As a volunteer you will form part of a conservation monitoring and tracking team, focused on the reintroduction of white lions into their natural habitat – the Timbavati region of South Africa.
Volunteer tasks include:
– Lion monitoring
– Anti-poaching activities
– Habitat management
– Scientific Research
– Community development
Volunteer Requirements:
– Aged 19+
– Interested in conservation issues
– Flexible
– Self-sufficient and self-motivated
Dates:
You can join from 2 to 8 week periods year round. 5 places available per month. Dates range from Oct 2011 through to April 2012.
Cost:
The cost for 2 weeks is 790 GBP, 3 weeks is 1110 GBP, 4 weeks is 1366 GBP, 5 weeks is 1670 GBP, 6 weeks is 1974 GBP, 7 weeks is 2166 GBP and for 8 weeks it is 2454 GBP.
This cost includes accommodation, personalised training by qualified members of the conservation and management team, cooking and laundry facilities, weekly trip to town for food & other supplies, internet & e-mail access and WorkingAbroad Projects support and backup.
