Bottlenose Dolphin Research Project

Volunteers are needed for an ongoing study into bottlenose dolphins in the Mediterranean sea, around Lošinj and Cres, islands off the coast of Croatia.

As a volunteer, you will participate in research tasks focused on dolphin population dynamics. These tasks include:

– At sea data recording activities, such as dolphin identification, behavioural sampling, acoustic monitoring.

– Data analysis and report preparation at the base

– Assisting in educational activities at the marine educational centre

Dates:

Project dates run for 12 days from May to September 2012. There are 5 places available in each project date.

Volunteer requirements:

– Must be over 18 years old

-Speak English

-Should be in good physical condition, able to swim and tolerate long periods on boats under the sun

-Have a strong interest in conservation and animal protection

Costs:

The total cost ranges from £735 to £856 GB pounds for 12 days
(depending on course date).

Included in the price:

In house food and beverages (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the duration of the project except for the last evening dinner (usually pizza or pasta) at the restaurant in town
