Overall Job Purpose-
The Malvina House Hotel is currently hiring for the position of Restaurant Manager/Deputy Hotel Manager. The eligible candidate would have at least 2 years experience either as a Maitre D or Restaurant Manager. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an ability to set and maintain optimum standards of service delivery, be energetic and have a passion for the training and development of growing business. You will work closely with the Head Chef and deputise for the hotel manager during holidays etc. The position requires long hours and working weekends and public holidays. This would suit someone who has a real passion for food and wine and must be able to work in a small team.
Responsibilities
• Over seeing staff training
• Ensuring cleanliness standards are met
• Assisting in maintaining health and safety in the workplace
• Managing staff rotas
• Maintaining service standards throughout the whole hotel
• Helping other hotel departments in any area when required
• Ensuring service standards are set and met in the restaurant
• Work closely with the head chef in staff menu training
• Covering for sick days etc… at short notice
• Deputising for hotel management in his absence
• Motivating staff to create a fun and productive restaurant team
• Ensuring stock control and liasing with maintenance and resources to ensure that all maintenance and stock is up to date and complete
• To ensure that suitable music (chosen in conjunction with the manager) is played through the audio system throughout each session, unless against customers’ wishes
• Helping to organise any staff events ie… Christmas party, end of season party
