Pamoja International Voluntary Services (PIVS) is a non-profit, Non Governmental Organization (N.G.O.) without any political or religious or sectarian affiliation. PIVS co-ordinates, plans and organizes International work camps and Medium Term Volunteer program with community groups or institutions in need of voluntary labour or service to empower community self-help initiatives.
PIVS is set in an African tradition way of life thus focusing on its vision to improve the people’s way of life by working with them from grass root levels. PIVS was founded in 2001 and registered in 2002 at the Office of the Vice President and Ministry of Gender, Sports, Culture and Social Services as Community Based Organization and in 2007 PIVS was elevated and registered as a Non Governmental Organization.
2 weeks work camp – Construction
3 weeks work camps – Medical, teaching, agriculture, marine conservation, micro finance, volunteering in children homes, wildlife, HIV/AIDS, human rights
Medium Term Volunteering (MTV) 1-6 months Volunteering in Hospital – Nurses/ Doctors/ Elective Students/ Pre med students
Volunteering in Children Homes – Counselors/teachers/social workers
Human rights programs – Political/Science Legal/law students areas include Governance, corruption, development, torture, peace building, election violence
Volunteering in Schools – Teaching math, sciences, English, computer
Must be 18 years and over to volunteer and we charge participation fee as follows:
2 weeks camp – Euros 200
3 weeks camp – Euros 270
1 month MTV – Euros 300
