ICELAND / @ Thórsmörk Trail Volunteers
We are looking for participants who have experience of working with teams, enjoy camping and spending time hiking in wild and remote areas. These placements are especially well suited to applicants who have volunteered before in similar practical conservation work and are looking for additional challenges and responsibilities.
Placement dates
Group 1: 22/05/22 – 16/07/22 (8 weeks)
Group 2: 10/07/22 – 03/09/22 (8 weeks)
Our volunteer team leaders are responsible for the day-to-day management of the camps including organising supplies and coordinating the domestic tasks. On the work sites, they take responsibility for managing the practical activities which includes organising the equipment, explaining the work and safety planning. Placements begin with a training week and our volunteer leaders are guided and supported by Forestry Service staff throughout their placements.
