Children’s Centre Manager in Malawi
MALAWI / Krizevac Project
The Krizevac Project began 10 years ago by simply placing a large cross on a mountain near Chilomoni, Blantyre, Malawi. Now the township around the base of the mountain is being transformed through the creation of a number of enterprises which include everything from brick making to computer rental. The enterprises provide financial support for community projects such as the new Mother Teresa Children’s Centre.
The children’s centre is being constructed by a team of local Malawians headed up by a UK engineer and architect who have designed an impressive children’s centre that will accommodate a full range of early years services. Not only will it offer childcare for parents who will be able to train and work in the social-enterprises; but it will also offer under five’s health care, family support and outreach services as well as fun play and engagement activities.
We are now seeking a joyful volunteer to act as Children’s Centre Manager to oversee the start up of the centre. Our ideal manager will have a thorough understanding of early care and education, multi-agency partnerships and service delivery, they’ll play a crucial role in pulling together willing Malawian professionals to work from the centre and reach out into the local community.
The volunteer will spend between 6 to 12 months living in our “volunteers’ village” with most expenses paid by the charity, they’ll also help training up a Malawian Children’s Centre Manager to continue the role.
Terms and Conditions: 6 month minimum duration, start asap. Some expenses paid including: flights, insurance, visas, accommodation in our beautiful volunteers village, 3 x meals per day
