NEPAL / Global Vision International
On arrival volunteers will have an orientation in Kathmandu and during this time you will live with a host family, learn basic Nepali and explore the Kathmandu Valley. This program then offers volunteers the opportunity to assist on community education projects or teach at schools in several locations throughout Nepal. Many of the population live below the poverty line and as a consequence of this and other social issues many children are deprived of educational opportunities in Nepal. Optional side trips, such as trekking, rafting and a jungle safari are also available.
How this program makes a difference
Aside from providing invaluable help with hands on work to underprivileged children who have few educational opportunities, volunteers are a vital source of funding. Through volunteer contributions, funds are made available to the different projects with which GVI works.
