Madagascar Conservation Project

MADAGASCAR / Global Vision International

This exciting and innovative program is an ongoing community-based conservation initiative combining several approaches to the sustainable conservation of the costal forests of south east Madagascar. The program integrates research on endangered flora and fauna, in particular lemurs, with a number of other complementary initiatives. These include tree planting, promotion of fuel-efficient stoves and environmental education. Volunteers may also assist with the construction of a research station to aid data collection and continuing research.
