This community run centre for local children is located in a beautiful semi rural village surrounded by mountains. The centre is looking for creative, mature and responsible volunteers who love children. Volunteers work alongside local women to help take care of the children, provide regular classroom support, and accompany them on local excursions. Volunteers with specific skills can provide creative extracurricular activities such as environmental education, sports, dance, art, etc. The centre is very open to new ideas to improve and innovate its educational services.
Spanish classes cost around £4 per hour for one-to-one tuition with an experienced teacher. For those on a tight budget there are plenty of people in the village who would love to have free informal conversation exchanges.
The project costs £250 per month which includes: accommodation with local families in a private room with access to a kitchen or in an independent volunteer house; 24/7 support; regular meetings with volunteer liaison officer; airport pick-up/drop-off; welcome or farewell dinner. For volunteers working a full day, lunch and snacks will be provided free.
