GHANA / Volunteer Partnerships for West Africa
VPWA engages volunteers to offset the shortfall of teachers at our local schools and fill gaps in subject areas that need support.
Available positions: Pre-school teacher, primary school teacher, Junior High School Teacher, School Administrator.
You will receive assistance from the local school teachers regarding the lesson plans and teaching curriculum. There will be a Teaching Guide book to assist you in your daily work with the children.
Volunteers are asked to assist with lessons Monday to Friday (8:00am -2:30pm)
Volunteers are required to stay for a minimum of 4 weeks. This opportunity is open all year round.
General requirements:
• At least age 18 (no maximum age limit);
• Good knowledge of English language
• Strong commitment to values and principles of volunteerism;
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
• Ability to adjust in difficult living and working conditions;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
