Work in the production, management or marketing of a textile cooperative

The project is a textile producing cooperative, composed by widows and orphans from the 36 years of civil war. They produce bags, clothes, table clothes, etc. with traditional symbols but with different colors. Currently it has 30 weavers, including several elderly. They are constantly incorporating new fabrics. Each weaver produces its tissues in her own home, but the project is a venue for group activities which is located behind the municipal market. Some part of their sales is invested in the cooperative and educational activities. They recently started an alternative tourism project.

Tasks:
• Promotion of the textiles
• Webdesign, Marketing and Fundraising
• Educational activities for the weavers (English and literacy classes)
• Coordination of the eco-tourism activities
• Work schedule: The working hours are flexible

Accommodation, Benefits and Costs:
• You can stay in a host family (from 45 US$ / week)
• Proyecto Mosaico books your lodging, Spanish school and your transportation from the airport, furthermore we offer individual assistance provided by the office in Granada before, throughout and after your stay
• For our work and our services we ask a one-time-only fee of €250 – regardless of the length of your stay

Requirements:
• Minimum stay: 1 month
• Spanish level: Intermediate – Advanced
• Skills and expertise: You have social conduct, an adaptability to cultural differences and poverty. Knowledge in administration, fundraising and web design are useful
