Over 70 children attend both regular classes based on the curriculum, and extra-curricular classes based on arts and skills. On weekends the parents of children attending the school are also given the opportunity to study as part of their literacy program. Currently the association runs 9 programs that have been designed and integrated to offer a holistic experience for the children, their parents, and the community at large. The programs include school programs, a public library, a children’s cafeteria program, a tutoring Program, a social work program, a student meditation program as well as literacy courses.
Tasks:
There are 5 working areas:
• “Comedor” for kids
• Arts and craft
• Preschool area, Public school area or extracurricular area
• Private lessons and sports
• Working time: from 8 a.m.-12 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.-5 p.m.
Accommodation, Benefits and Costs:
• Stay in a host family in Antigua (from 75 US$ / week incl. 3 meals) or in a hostel (20 US$ single room / night, 30 US$ double room / night)
• Proyecto Mosaico books your lodging, Spanish school and your transportation from the airport, furthermore we offer individual assistance provided by the office in Granada before, throughout and after your stay
• For our work and our services we ask a one-time-only fee of 250€ – regardless of the length of your stay
Requirements:
• Minimum stay: 2 months
• Spanish level: Advanced
• English level: Advanced (if you would like to teach English)
• Skills and expertise: You like sports and art and you have special skills in this area which you want to share and teach to children, you are interested in working with children, experience with children is welcome
