CANADA / YD Guest Ranch
Our Ranch is located at the edge of the beautiful Thompson-Nicola wilderness of British Columbia, 4 hours from Vancouver and 20 min. from the Cache Creek on Hwy 1. There is limited bus service during week days and we can pick you up from there.
We are family-owned guest ranch, we have 15 Horses (but we think of buying 6 more), 6 ATVs, 2 Argos, 3 dogs and 2 cats. We are looking for people who are interested in developing their skills in the outdoor adventure business, natural horsemanship, the Parelli Program, train horses, guide ATV/ARGO rides, and small restaurant management. You will be part of a fun-loving team in a friendly and supportive environment.
We are looking for flexible, hard working helpers physically fit to help with horses, kitchen, housekeeping, and general ranch work, who are willing to help wherever needed. You must be willing to work and be non-smoker. We are looking for people that enjoy the outdoors and like staying busy.
Help us up to 25 hours per week in exchange for free room and board and free training in horse husbandry, learn about ATV & argo mechanics and maintenance, archery philosophy and wildlife scouting. And of course – riding! Horse riding! ATV riding! Argo riding! Sometimes you will go out on the rides with guests, but most of the time you will go out on staff rides with a trained guide to take you out and make sure you have a safe and fun experience. You will enjoy the same wonderful riding that our guests enjoy, over thousands of acres, exploring riverside trails, galloping across open meadows, climbing mountain tracks to see stunningly beautiful views.
Minimum 4 weeks is required. You are generally assigned different tasks on a weekly basis – variety is fun!
Be aware that our farm is 18km from town. We can arrange for trips to town with one of our vehicles but some pre-planning and organizing will be required, unless of course you bring your own vehicle. There are several bicycles available for your use at anytime.
