SOUTH AFRICA / Tearfund
Are you up for the challenge of a lifetime in 2016?
Tearfund’s Global Volunteering Team are looking to recruit volunteers for our explore teams participating in Tearfund ICS (International Citizen Service) to depart in February or June 2016
Tearfund is a Christian development charity working to end poverty and social injustice in some of the poorest countries in the world through the local church
About the programme
Tearfund ICS have launched an innovative programme called Explore. The programme will focus on the role of faith in supporting some of the world’s poorest communities. It is open to people of all faiths and none. Here are a few questions to consider to find out if it might be right for you:
-Do you have an interest in learning more about how faith can play a role in international development?
-Are you open to working with people of different faiths and beliefs?
-Do you enjoy talking about religion and faith with people who might hold different beliefs?
-Would you be comfortable working with local organisations and people who are committed and practising Christians, in a context where prayers and worship are likely to be a regular part of the workplace?
-Would you be comfortable serving alongside others who are not practicing Christians, but who are passionate about development and interested in the role faith plays in the communities where Tearfund’s partners work?
