Volunteer Overseas (Government Funded Placement)

SOUTH AFRICA BOLIVIA BANGLADESH / Tearfund

Are you up for the challenge of a lifetime? Ready for a change of scene where you can apply your skills to help transform communities overseas..?

Tearfund’s Global Volunteering Team are looking to recruit volunteers for our teams participating in Tearfund ICS (International Citizen Service) to depart in September 2015

Tearfund is a Christian development charity working to end poverty and social injustice in some of the poorest countries in the world.

Tearfund ICS is a 12 week, government-funded volunteer placement for 18-25 year olds that provides the opportunity to make a difference in local communities in some of the poorest places in the world. The Tearfund programme is unique as we work closely through local church partners who have requested the help of ICS teams as part of our larger development scheme for that community. There is therefore no doubt that your contribution will make a difference.

Destinations
Bolivia, Bangladesh and South Africa: You will have the opportunity to volunteer on a range of projects from teaching, construction, agriculture, HIV prevention work, water and sanitation, micro-enterprise, sports coaching, creative arts etc

Volunteer description
The great thing about the ICS placement is that you don’t need any particular skills, qualifications or cash. All you need is an ambition to make a difference! However volunteers do need to be between 18-25 and be a UK citizen, an EEA citizen or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. If you are not a UK citizen you must be able to show proof of residence in the UK for the past 12 months

We are running interviews throughout May and early June so please do apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment stating Tearfund as your preffered charity to travel with.

Apply via www.tearfund.org/ics or contact: abigail.brown@tearfund.org

Expires: June 30, 2015
