Package worth approximately 18,000 GBP with other bonus and performance options. The role can be for one person, with support from owners or we would consider partner/couple option. For the right double team, we may be able to offer an additional 30-40 % uplift on package.
Use of car, with insurance and road tax may be provided for the right candidate(s). For a weekly charge, a fully self-contained cottage can also be made available, with ALL bills , internet and utilities supplied. Or the owner can assist in locating off site accommodation at own cost.
We are looking for a professional motivated person or couple to take over all duties associated with running the most successful small self-catering holiday business in the National Park.
For the right person or couple a profit sharing agreement may be considered after a period of outstanding service. Such a profit share, in the long term could allow the person or couple to establish long term roots in the area and take the business to the next level.
Job Summary:
Very successfully self-catering accommodation business in the Cairngorms National Park, Newtonmore near Aviemore Scotland. It is a family owned company that is looking for a motivated person or couple to take full control of all aspects of the business. There are 8 cottages all in one u shaped farm steading, 5 one bedroom, 2 two bedroom and one three bedroom cottages. The cottages are rented over 7 days in the busy periods, with change overs split evenly over two days, Friday and Saturday. In Medium and low seasons the cottages are booked on a more adhoc basis. Generally Fridays and Saturdays involve full day 10am-4pm intensive cottage cleaning, with mid-week days involving 2-4 hrs per day with some office and administrative work. Day offs are usually Sunday and one other day from Mon-Thursday.
You must have good English spoken and written. Good computer skills for email and word is also required. Good online social media skills, such as Facebook twitter and basic web / blogging skills would be a great advantage.
Must be motivated, hardworking with a very flexible approach to hours and duties.
Candidate(s) must be physically fit as there is an element of lifting and gardening within the role and the cleaning is a demanding activity.
Starting date & working hours:
IMMEDIATE START, but we can be flexible for the correct candidate.
Hours normally within 9 am to 5.00 pm but a flexible approach is always taken by both parties.
Some Sunday and bank holiday days may also be required, but majority of hours are mid-week / Saturday. I phone will be supplied for business use and personal calls. Out of hours calls and email response is part of the roles and responsibilities.
Supply of office and all relevant IT equipment. There is a separated standalone company office available for use at the cottages.
Main Task are:
Ensure properties are cleaned and ready for new arrival. You must be willing to clean to a high standard.
Answer enquiries and bookings on database system, and phone calls.
Update regularly social media.
Manage laundry room (wash and dry, bagging dirty for pick up, logging dirty, restacking clean) – All sheets are washed and ironed by external company
Suggest and then implement new marketing campaigns and cottages upgrade plans.
Update and improve web pages and other marketing material.
Assist in managed of any third parties.
Respond to any guest requests.
Where applicable book and managed tradesmen, such as electrical, plumbing chimney sweep etc. etc.
Keep areas and gardens clean and tidy.
