You must have not only an interest in history, but willing to live the role, dressed in period costume, enthusiastically engaging with guests by sharing your excitement about living and working in a historic gold rush town.
We are excited about training our staff in developing the skills of an “upstairs/downstairs maid” in a quaint 7 room hotel located in Barkerville, BC., in all areas of hotel operation such as food preparation, cooking and food inventory, serving, cleaning, laundry, ironing, vacuuming, dusting and polishing furniture. Also includes taking telephone reservations and processing check-ins & outs.
As part of the St. George Hotel staff, you will work as a team in 6-8 hour shifts. Compensation is minimum wage. Perks include room and amazing meals. Your work term will begin in mid-May, mid-June or mid-July. Season ends in late September. You are required to fulfill a commitment to 3 months to receive a completion bonus.
