FRENCH GUIANA / University of Bristol
The Sumner Lab at the University of Bristol is looking for a field volunteer with a love of ecology and evolution to join us for three months’ fieldwork studying wasps in French Guiana, on the north-east coast of South America (Spring 2015).
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in field biology, strongly suited to those thinking of applying to further postgraduate study. The project will use advanced monitoring techniques to understand the social behaviour of tropical wasps.
The successful applicant will typically have a good degree in a biological subject, and need to demonstrate a strong interest in ecology/evolution. Previous fieldwork experience is desirable.
Volunteers will fund their own flights to South America, and the project will take place between late February and May 2015. Deadline for applications is 8th January 2015, but earlier applications may have an advantage. For more information, and how to apply, visit www.tinyurl.com/field2015. Applications should be sent to patrick.c.kennedy AT live.co.uk.
Expires: Jan 8, 2015
