Our Sustainable Communities Programme (Kenya) was set up in May 2014 as a virtual community development network to support local development practitioners in Kenya to build information sharing platforms and promote sustainable development of their communities. We aim to work closely with communities, governments, businesses and NGOs to develop and deliver sustainable community development in Kenya.

We require a confident creative Recruitment & Training Assistant to join our UK Team. You will assist with advertising, shortlisting and interviewing of potential interns and volunteers, and taking successful applicants through the induction process. We are offering the opportunity to be at the forefront of this project. You will develop competencies in communicating and influencing, delivering results and customer focus. We offer the opportunity to work flexibly from home around study/work commitments.

As the programme develops, there will be opportunities to assist Kenyan teams in project planning, fundraising, building global networks and organising events. There may also be opportunities to travel to Kenya to meet local teams and participate in projects you have helped shape.

You will be:
• Highly organised, dynamic and driven, with a solid understanding of sustainable community development;
• Professional, have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
• Able to prove that you can deliver results without direct supervision and that you can motivate yourself and others;
• Committed to learning and development, including regularly seeking feedback from others;
• Committed to working a minimum of 3 hours per week for a period of 6 months, but you are welcome to invest more time to develop your project if you wish;
• Some experience of recruitment for charities, and organising events would be a bonus.
