Our Sustainable Communities Programme (Kenya) was set up in May 2014 as a virtual community network to support local development practitioners in Kenya to build information sharing platforms to promote their local communities.
We believe sustainable growth in the counties will be achieved, if community members take a leading role in shaping and delivering the necessary interventions, supported by free access to good quality information and a global network of expertise on social values, systems and resources.
We require Project Team Leaders to join our UK Team. You will lead several Kenyan research teams to conduct and publish their research, and subsequently design and deliver projects on the ground.
You will be at the forefront of this project. Your workload will be varies, with a lot of responsibility early on. This project will develop your competencies in communicating and influencing, delivering results, through partnerships, strategic thinking, managing and developing staff and customer focus. We offer the opportunity to work flexibly from home around your study/work commitments.
You will be:
• Highly organised, dynamic and driven, with a solid understanding of sustainable community development;
• Intelligent, perceptive and analytical in engaging with complex social problems;
• A creative, open minded, and innovative problem solver;
• Professional and engaging communicator;
• Able to deliver results without direct supervision;
• Able to manage and lead a team to encourage high levels of motivation and performance;
• Committed to learning and development, including regularly seeking feedback from others;
• Committed to working a minimum of 5 hours per week for a period of 6 months, but you are welcome to invest more time to develop your project if you wish;
