Head of Secondary
A leading international school in Ulaanbaatar is for an experienced and dynamic Head of Secondary to lead the secondary department into their second year of IGCSE’s and to plan the opening of the Sixth Form in 2015/16.
Position: Head of Secondary
Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Start Date: August 2014
Salary: 48,000 USD – 50,000 USD per annum (can be negotiated if applicant teaches)
Experience: QTS, PGCE in Secondary, taught the British Curriculum;
Experience in Middle- Senior Management; Can teach IGCSE Maths, English OR Science.
Contract: 2 years (renewable)
Package: Basic salary; free accommodation (On Site: Couples – 2 beds, 2 baths; Singles – 1 bedroom apartment); yearly return airfares; international medical cover; pension contribution.
About the school:
The school is modelled on the British curriculum system, offering a broad and challenging educational program to students from diverse cultural backgrounds. There are currently more than 300 students at the school. The staff are a mix of international and local teachers and it is a tight knit community. The school is committed to inspiring students to achieve the highest standards of intellectual and personal achievement through a stimulating and comprehensive academic curriculum as well as through myriad extracurricular activities.
About the location:
The school is located about 6km outside of the city centre of Ulaanbaatar. This is an enormous city and there are many new developments in the area. There are newly built, large shopping complexes, restaurants and nightlife nearby. This position presents a unique chance to experience life in a fascinating part of the world.
Curriculum and teaching:
The school follows the British curriculum and provides all necessary resources for that. Schooling hours are from 8.30am-3.00pm. Teachers are to arrive at the school by 8.00am. Extra-curricular activities are held twice a week and teachers are required to stay back for an extra 50-minute periods on those days.
