About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Gorkana Group as we are looking for a Trainee/Intern to join our German speaking hub within our European team.
Ideally you are looking for a 3-6 months Internship in London. You will have a strong interest in the media industry and are eager to join the dynamic and fun team in our Old Street Office.
You will be fluent in German and English, have a confident and outgoing personality, be organised and have a keen eye for detail.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Assist European Team with administrative tasks (sales support, data support)
• To cleanse and verify the existing data to ensure accuracy and detail.
• To expand German data through research of new outlets/journalists (including biographies, photos, publication profiles and publication notes and adding to the Gorkana database.
• System knowledge: Ensure knowledge of Gorkana database functionality is current.
• Ad hoc translations of English documents into German
• Interaction with other Gorkana teams, News Teams/Hubs, Marketing
Skills:
• Interest in the media industry
• Fluency in German (native level German) and English
• Computer literate
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to conduct productive research via the internet and telephone
• Self motivated with ability to time manage
• Confident telephone manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in all languages
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work
The Person:
• Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Self-motivation: Target and data driven. Meets objectives and standards on own initiative including repetitive tasks.
• Teamwork
• Organisation: works systematically, uses time efficiently; ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines without direct supervision
• Response to change: adaptable, interested in learning and developing to meet changing situations, an enthusiastic approach to the introduction of new technology
• Confidentiality: due regard must be shown with all knowledge and information relating to Company finances and clients. Must also comply with Company policy and respect all Company property and equipment.
