About UZIV.org
Shenzhen Charity Federation UZIV Fund was established and registered in August 2012. UZIV started as an NGO under the name “UZIV exchange group” in May 2007, aiming to provide help for students and organize cultural exchange activities. Since then it has been focusing on bringing help and encouragement to students in remote and poverty-stricken areas. UZIV is based in China and has established branches in the US, Canada and UK. Till now more than 6000 people have participated in activities organized by UZIV.
Summer Volunteer Positions
UZIV will be offering several volunteering opportunities during the summer of 2014. The main activities include communication with local students, establishing electronic libraries, organizing activities, research topics, scholarship programs, giving out sport accessories, and visiting families. There are opportunities available in the following locations:
07-21 June 2014 in Yuxi, Yunnan, China
07-22 June 2014 in Duyun, Guizhou, China
13-29 June 2014 in Zhangye, Gansu, China
13-29 June 2014 in Tianshui, Gansu, China
13-29 June 2014 in Wuwei, Gansu, China
14-26 June 2014 in Weinan, Shaanxi, China
01-16 July 2014 in Cambodia
Detailed schedule for each placement is available upon request. A sample schedule can be seen below:
Day 1-5:
07:00 – 16:30: give lectures to school students according to course table
16:30 – 17:30: after school activities such as class meetings, getting around schools, establishing electronic libraries, sports & fun activities, family visiting
19:00 – 21:30: sharing meetings, lecture preparation, installing apps for tablets, tele-conferencing, etc.
Day 6-7 (Weekend):
Sightseeing and visiting towns nearby.
Day 8-13:
07:00 – 16:30: give lectures to school students according to course table
16:30 – 17:30: after school activities such as talent shows, competitions, school activities, academic results exchange, performance shows
19:00 – 21:30: sharing meetings, lecture preparation, organizing pictures, etc.
Day 14-15:
Packing and closing ceremony, meetings to share your experience, heading back home
Prices
Placements in Gansu (Zhangye, Tianshui and Wuwei): CNY 2800
Placement in Yuxin, Yunnan: CNY 2450
Placement in Duyun, Guizhou: CNY 2650
Placement in Weinan, Shaanxi: CNY 2400
Placement in Cambodia: CNY 6300
Note
1. The prices cover accommodation, food, water and insurance during the volunteer period, as well as training, T-shirts (x3) and registration;
2. The prices do not include traveling expenses to/from the placement venue;
3. The prices do not cover individual activities such as weekend sightseeing;
