We are looking for young people who are interested in going to Spain to be English Language Assistants (ELA) with Spanish families. Our business focuses primarily on language and cultural. We are offering a personalised service, matching up the requirements of the families with the experience and requirements of the ELA. The ELA will live as a member of the family, totally immersed in Spanish life, accompanying the family on trips, holidays, visits to workplace, schools. The ELA will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of the Spanish Culture and way of life, few other experiences could offer and ample opportunities to speak Spanish if they wish.
Our Host families are very varied but the majority have older children of Primary or Secondary school age and some have University students also. Our ELAs will be expected to prepare in advance for their placement, ensuring that they come prepared with materials and resources in English and will be expected to carry out constructive English sessions with the children where they develop projects and create opportunities for the host family to practise English in a creative way.
If the placement is during term time then there is the possibility for the ELA to complete a placement as a classroom assistant in a local school. Alternatively, an option with a local firm could be set up. We need sociable, outgoing, playful, talented, sporty, polite, responsible, enthusiastic ELAs who want wonderful experiences of living in a different country! Lengths of stay can vary from 1 month to 1 year depending on requirements.
