This vacancy is for a volunteer field and research assistant on an MSc project, looking at the habitat requirements of the southern woolly lemur and southern lesser bamboo lemur in southeast Madagascar.

The position is to commence in April 2014 for 3/4 months (TBC) and it is important that the volunteer is available for the entire period.

The position is unsalaried, and volunteers are asked to arrange their own flights to Fort Dauphin (Madagascar), insurance and visa. The project will provide on site transport, 3 meals a day, and drinking water. The volunteer will also need to bring their own tent, sleeping bag, clothes, head torch etc…and we will be camping at research stations and camp sites for the duration of the project.

This is a great opportunity to gain research experience in the field, as part of a multi-national team.
