The way it works: Send in your CV / Attend an Interview via Skype or Phone/ Agree on a Starting Date/ Book your Flights to Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia (depending on offer)/Turn up for your Induction week in Spain/ Carry out your Internship and be monitored through on-going training / Receive your TEFL Certificate upon completion of the 6 months.
Trainee in prime Spanish locations to start ASAP: It takes place in Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia, depending on the starting dates. We have a couple of inductions per month.
All are candidates must be over 18. No prior experience is required. We accept people with very different sets of skills and experience. If you are drawn to teaching or simply are looking for a temporary change of career, this experience will be fruitful. Timetables are from Monday to Friday or Saturday for a 40-hour week with a “Spanish” split shift: timetables depend on the time of year and city.
DO I RECEIVE COMPENSATION DURING MY TRAINING?
• COMPENSATION (or living allowance) is given for travel expenses at
food and is therefore based on attendance. It is at a fixed rate of
250GBP pm. Receipts must be provided by our intern (the total amount
does not have to be reached but a minimum of 200GBP is required).
• FREE Accommodation is provided, during your internship. It will be
a single room in a shared flat belonging to the Partner School where
you will be carrying out the placement.
• FREE Medical Insurance is provided by the Partner School.
WHY IS THE HANDS-ON TEFL INTERNSHIP SO POPULAR?
Our teacher training internship has proven to be very well-liked, as it provides our interns with a vast set of skills and very concrete experience.
• It starts every second week throughout the whole year
• It lasts 6 months
• Gap Year Internship agreements with universities also possible for longer periods.
• The Hands-On teaching placement takes place in exciting Spanish cities.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
• The induction lasts 40 hours directly in Spain: this gives our interns a general overview of the tasks with all the essential modules being covered by a TEFL Trainer.
• From week 1 onwards in Spain, there are weekly feedback sessions: via email, phone or Skype – so as to discuss classroom situations with the your TEFL Trainer. This guarantees on-going development and provides our interns with much needed support.
• You get to teach 40 hours per week to gain as much teaching experience as possible. You teach One-to-One classes of English to Spanish adults. Groups are also an option in some cities.
WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
• You will learn how to tutor adults One-to-One and in reduced Groups, in General English but also Exam Preparation (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and BEC).
• You will also learn more about admin and class planning.
• You receive valuable work experience and a TEFL Certificate upon completion.

ARE THERE ANY REQUIREMENTS?
• Prior experience not required. Our in-house training covers everything from general to exam English & one-to-one to teaching groups
• You must be enthusiastic and a team player
• English has to be your first language or at a native level
• Having a degree is a plus but not a must
• Minimum age: 18 years old
