BULGARIA / Valentina Chalet Hotel
We are a friendly small company looking for Chef or a couple one if which is a Chef and who is able to prepare up to 40 plates on a daily basis and also to help host our guests with the rest of the Chalet Team.
If you are a couple then one must be a Chef and the other able to assist the Chef to prepare the meals to a high standard, to run our kitchen in our Chalet Hotel in Bansko, Bulgaria during this Winter season (December-April). The secondary duties are to assist in Hosting our Chalet Guests.
We don’t give set menu plans that you have to cook as we enjoy the different styles different chefs bring to the job (although ultimately these will have to be set within the ingredients available locally). So we are looking for someone with flair and imagination who will love running his/her own kitchen and can cook to a high standard with excellent presentation. The job involves preparing and cooking breakfast, a cake or two for afternoon tea, and a 3 course evening meal. If you are part of a couple then the other person looks after our guests, common areas clean and tidy and waits on the tables etc.
We are looking for someone who:
*Has a real passion for food and has hospitality experience, ideally within a ski season.
*Must have a high sense of cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas, working within food and kitchen hygiene standards.
*Can create a 3 course hearty evening meal, 6 nights a week from 10 to 37 people.
*Can prepare cake, biscuits or scones for afternoon tea.
*Be on breakfast duty 7 days a week (day off is just a cold buffet).
*Be very diligent at keeping to budgets, planning and shopping.
*Help the rest of the chalet team look after your guests.
*MUST be prepared to cater for children’s dinners, food allergies, celiac, vegans, veggies and dairy-free eaters who will all want a different menu.
*Naturally be extremely professional, reliable and flexible.
*Assist in the Welcome meetings and ensuring the guests have a great holiday with a can do attitude.
* Taking and collecting guests via the mini bus to the Ski Hire or Gondola (Full drivers license required, and able to drive in Europe.)
You need to be personable, bright, charming and organised! The Chalet Hotel sleeps up to 37 people (you will be pleased to know we have separate staff for cleaning the rooms). Bansko is Bulgaria’s premier Ski resort which is excellent for beginners or Advanced Skiers / Boarders. You get time off every day to ski / board (except changeover day) and one day off/ week. We try to ensure that you do get as much time on the slopes as possible because that is the point of a working a ski season! We take great care to look after our staff because we believe that if you’re happy then our guests are.
